GovTech Platform Product Stages
The GovTech Platform Product Stages framework sets the standards, requirements and assurances across the product lifecycle.
Platform Product Stages indicates how ready a GovTech product is for agency adoption and the level of support it will come with.
Status progression and transitions are governed by rigorous criteria managed by GovTech senior leadership.
Proof of Concept (POC)
- Earliest stage where solutions are being tested to validate feasibility and value
- Rapid feature development, testing and experimentation
- Lean product team
- No standard terms of engagement; terms to be decided between product team and users
Notice Period / Transition Support
- No Notice Period for product pivots and/or feature change
- Minimal transition support in event of sunset
Proof of Value (POV)
- Proven value delivery with active refinement through real-world agency feedback
- Regular feature development and product improvements
Notice Period / Transition Support
- 6 months’ notice for major pivots
- 12 months’ notice in the event of sunset with basic transition support
General Availability (GA)
- All GA products are fully supported and ready for agency-wide scaling of core services with guaranteed no major product pivots
Notice Period / Transition Support
- 24 months’ notice in event of sunset
- Customised support in event of sunset, such as onboarding to alternative solutions, technical support for migration, code base transfer
Sunset
- Decommissioning products. Not available for new adoption; existing users are offboarded and/or migrated to alternative solutions
- While sunsetting, product continues to be available for existing users, with basic maintenance and basic compliance requirements maintained
- Customised, high touch support aimed at minimizing disruptions
- Product will remain available for existing users, with basic maintenance for the duration specified above (12 months for POV products, 24 months for GA products)
